Version: desconocido (using KDE 3.5.5, Kubuntu (dapper) 4:3.5.5-0ubuntu1) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-23-686 The new KPager in KDE 3.5.5 is aware of all 4 Beryl desktops, and can switch beautifully among them, highlighting the current desktop on the pager itself :) this is proper behaviour. Two problems I have found, however: * When switching to a different desktop using Beryl shortcuts, KPager still highlights the last virtual desktop you selected (using KPager itself). For some reason, there is an exception to this: if you move back to desktop 1, KPager highlights it correctly. * When changing desktop (doesn't matter if you are using shortcuts or KPager to do so), the miniature views on KPager display wrong. They are only shown on Desktop one. If you go to another desktop with a different set of windows, all contents on desktop 1 miniatures change to the current desktop contents. I report them on the same bug report because I suspect they originate on the same code error. Unfortunately I'm no KDE dev to check it out.
Just as a side note, I won't be surprised if this shows up in Novell's compiz as well.
I think this problem is solved more or less in 3.5.6. There's something else with pager and beryl though: drag and drop (within the pager) from one desktop (viewport) to another makes the dragged application always move to desktop (viewport) 1. I use ubuntu 'stable' repository for beryl and I tested this with beryl 2.0RC1.
No changes with 3.5.6
Same here: no changes with 3.5.6 KDE 3.5.6 on Kubuntu Edgy, tested with SVN beryl and stable beryl.
I was told there were some fixes, yet this bug still exists in KDE 3.5.6, at least for beryl r4048.

I'd say this works on Kubuntu Feisty w. KDE 3.5.7 but would like to see someone confirm. I'd like to use 'show only apps on this desktop' on the task bar, but I suppose beryl doesn't support this and disables the KDE feature since it's using only one desktop (w. 4 viewports).. Maybe future Beryl/KDE versions can handle this..
Does anyone use beryl in KDE4? Maybe we should close it?
IMHO it should be closed or be a wontfix. KDE4 has its own effects and compiz is just sucking resources from KDE developers that should be spent in a better way.
Kicker and Beryl are both unmaintained, so it'd make sense that this bug be classified as such.
