Description Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-10-12 08:29:36 UTC
Version: 3.5.5 (using KDE 3.5.5, compiled sources)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.16.13-4-default

Hi!
http://www.bmw.at/at/de/index_narrowband.html

see image "unknown host"

this page (as some others like http://www.standard.at ) loads until 80-90%, stops a while and displays the page with this error message.

IMHO a timing problem, because it complains about a unknown host which is the same as the URL.

after "reload" the page is displayed correctly.

badly enough, this happens randomly.

I do not use a proxy.

unknown host

btw it never happens on my box in the office, where I am behind a proxy

export KDE_NO_IPV6=true seems to solve this problem.

Is it possible to catch this problem and suggest a solution for users?

Comment 3 Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-11-28 08:21:54 UTC
IMHO setting this flag increases the speed (response time) of konqueror dramatically
example http://derstandard.at/ never loaded completely here without setting this flag
