Description Michael Gorven 2006-10-09 12:58:30 UTC
Version: 1.4.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

Amarok does not correctly transfer files to my Second Generation iPod Nano. The actual files (MP3 format) are copied to the iPod, and entries are made in the iPod database, but these entries do not link up to the files. The result is that all the files are orphaned, and all the database entries are stale.

I tried transferring songs directly from the Collection Browser and by synchronising a playlist. The files/entries are all orphaned/stale both if I scan immediately after transferring, and if I disconnect, reconnect and then scan.

I am using libgpod 0.4.0. I can successfully transfer files with gtkpod 0.99.8.

Did you upgrade libgpod without rebuilding Amarok? AFAIK Amarok needs to be built against 0.4.0 to work correctly.

This was indeed the problem. I rebuilt Amarok against libgpod 0.4.0 and it now works correctly. Apologies for the bad report.
