Messenger signed on and off repeadily then told me to fill out a big report

Sorry, but we can't do anything with this report unless you can provide more info such as the error message given or which protocol it happens with, etc. Please reopen this report when you can provide more information. I would also suggest upgrading your version of Kopete.
