Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.4) Installed from: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux This started recently (last month or so). i am using the suspend feature of the kernel, and i find that every 3-4 days i'm unable to suspend due to lack of swap space. I've traced it to kdesktop, see the relevant numbers: total used free -/+ buffers/cache: 135384 112340 Swap: 533812 309548 224264 after killing kdesktop and re-starting it: total used free shared buffers cached -/+ buffers/cache: 94244 153480 Swap: 533812 57688 476124 I am using a program that does lots of resolution changes, perhaps that may have a influence, other than that i'm clueless. (KDE: 3.5.4-0.3.fc5 )
Are you using SVG wallpapers by any chance? I've fixed a number of memory leaks in KDesktop for the upcoming KDE 3.5.5, an SVG related one being the most prominent.
Using "Andes Venezolanos" wallpaper on all (2) desktops. Position: Scaled Colors: Single Blend Blending: No Blending
It seems that "Andes Venezolanos" Wallpaper is indeed svg, hmmm, gotta change it then. I'll close this bug as it's fixed in newer kde's.
Bug closed. Kdesktop is no more mantained.
