Version: 0.12.1 (using KDE 3.5.4, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.4-0ubuntu2~dapper1 ) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-27-686 If I'm connected to the MSN Network, I will be kicked out after a few moments – without any error message. Sometimes I stay in my client online, but for all other MSN contacts offline and nobody are able to send me a message. I'm using a hotmailaddress with '.de' at the end. ICQ and the Jabber plugin are working fine. I don't use a proxy or something like this, only a NAT.
Try with a different client. Does the same problem occur?
No, with Miranda does the problem not occur.
No, with Gaim, the problem does not occur.
I have the same problem with 0.12.2. It didn't happened with the version bundled with KDE 3.5.3.
I've this problem since 0.10 never fixed (only with http method)
Are you still seeing this problem with KDE 3.5.6? Run kopete from a konsole - do you get any debug output?
I've upgraded to 3.5.6(-3.fc6), so now I've got Kopete 0.12.4. I ran 'kopete' from konsole as user. Same problem, and there was NO debugging output whatsoever.
Does your distro provide debug-enabled packages for kdelibs and kdenetwork? If so, try installing them - that should get you some debug output on the konsole
The situation is better with version 0.12.2 bundled with KDE 3.5.5 (complete recompiling) but there are still problems with the file transfers... Strange. I'll try KDE 3.5.6 as soon as I have the time to compile it. Le mercredi 31 janvier 2007 19:31, Philip Rodrigues a écrit : [bugs.kde.org quoted mail]
I installed kdenetwork-debuginfo-3.5.6-0.1.fc6 and kdelibs-debuginfo-3.5.6-3.fc6 from rpm (I'm using Fedora 6), and saw no additional debug output. Like before, it just showed " QDateTime::fromString: Parameter out of range QDateTime::fromString: Parameter out of range QDateTime::fromString: Parameter out of range QGDict::hashKeyString: Invalid null key QDateTime::fromString: Parameter out of range QDateTime::fromString: Parameter out of range ..." right at the start, which therefore I think is unrelated to the MSN problem.
Following from the previous comment... By "right at the start", I meant at the start of Kopete, before I tried logging in MSN. After I tried logging in, there was no additional debug output.

We've completely replaced the current MSN implementation with a new MSN implementation which If you continue to experience this bug after testing the new implementation (which can be gotten from our subversion repository or with the KDE 4.2 Beta 1 release), PLEASE, open a new bug rather than reopening this bug. Thank you for your time and efforting in helping us find and fix problems in Kopete.
