Description Mikael Lammentausta 2006-09-22 15:22:09 UTC
Version: 0.9.0-beta2 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

I really like digiKam and I use it extensively to sort and display my photo collection.

The feature I really miss the most is the option to display the date and time string (in a user-definable way) in a corner of the screen (OSD) when viewing the photos in full-screen mode or in slideshow. I haven't been able to find this in the latest beta release. Please, if this is easy to implement, consider including this feature into the final 0.9.0 release.

I find it as extension of old wish to display comments on photograph
in full-screen mode/slideshow. IMO this bug could be closed as
duplicate. BTW - I don't think customization of data format is
necessary. It should be just localized version as it is done through
whole KDE.

Will it be included in 0.9?

Mikael,

digiKam 0.9.1 include now a native slideshow tool witch provide the feature that you want, and more of course. The date, comments, photograph info can be displayed like an OSD over the image during slideshow.

Slideshow mode is the same on Album GUI and Image Editor. Go to Setup/Slideshow to configure the OSD contents.
