Can you please specify which keyboard layout, variant and specific Xkb options in KControl, which keyboard layout in KTouch and which training lesson in KTouch you use so I can test? As far as I could test it works for me but I need to try in your exact conditions. Thanks in advance!
Hi Anne-Marie, Here are my settings: System: Kubuntu edgy 6.10 Kkb options: setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout us -variant intl Ktouch Keyboard layout: en Training lesson: spanish (autogenerated) /usr/share/apps/ktouch/spanish.ktouch.xml For example Level 6, if you want to type "á", pressing "' + a" (dead-keys) becomes "´a". The only way to write it correctly is using "Alt GR + a", but this is not the usual way in all other applications. Thanks.
With your settings KTouch from kde 3.5 svn branch works exactly as Kate for example. ´+e = é ´+a=á ~+a=ã and so on. All dead keys work for me. In Level 6 I can generate á and í from dead keys without using AltGr. Be sure you have Enable xkb options unchecked in Xkb options tab in KControl.
I have the same problem in KDE 3.5.6 ktouch 1.6; suse 10.1; qt3.3.7 I'm trying to fix it since KDE 3.4.1 Ktouch 1.3; suse 10.0; qt3.3.4. It worked fine for me in suse 9.3. xkb options: enabled,I tested many things..., and I have these problem ONLY with ktouch, I mean everythig seems well configured so the accents work well in the other programs. I don't know if it's related but I use scim. I confirm that dead keys are not working in my ktouch installation (I tried it in my two computers). Probably it will be fixed in KDE 4. However, in my opinion, until this is tested, this bug should not be tagged as resolved. Kind regards
Haarvard, could you back port to 3.5 branch please so it'll be fixed in next 3.5.7 release? That way people will be able to test it and to benefit from the fix. Thanks a lot!

Hi Alberto, I have the same problem using Ktouch in Ubuntu with Gnome. It seems that you solved the problem but reading your posts I don't unsderstand how you fixed it. I was looking for some committed revisions (like http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=638373) but getting lost myself. My kde libraries are on the last stable version 3.5.6 . Ktouch 1.5.3 KDE 3.5.6 Ubuntu Feisty i386 Please, can you help me? I want to write messages like this as fast as possible ;-)
