Version: Shredder Utility - on KDE Application Desktop - cannot recall which major app requested installation of shredder utility - however it has KDE type startup calls of kgpg -X %U (using KDE KDE 3.5.1) Installed from: SuSE RPMs OS: Linux Shredder is unable to shred a Directory only a File or Number of files that have been selected from Konqueror or Beagle based file selection's. I am of the belief that KGpg placed shredder on the desktop after asking. I really can find no logic as to why is cannot shred a My apologies for the absolute lack of details as to origin of application shredder, however before it shreds the file the title window is KPgp and a warning "Do you really want..." Shredder is capable of shredding a media drive why not a directory. Thank You Scott. P.S I do trust this is you application if so a help file would be nice;-) It is also incapable of shredding an email from evolution - however that is SUSE Novell's bug to fix not yours
Reassigning to kgpg, since it seems to be kgpg and not kwin
Logged as Bug with Novell as dragging an email out anywhewre of Evolution the shreader causes a Krash. You my with to cancell with reference #11111 which is the Novell bug. They will as always take care of to these type issues where multiple application. I use the rule is the program doesnot have a bug program in help then its not KDE nor Gnome and should be reported to https://bugzilla.novell.com/enter_bug.cgi Please see my bug
The shred feature has been removed from the KDE library. Kgpg will not support this feature anymore. Moderns file systems use journalisation. So the shred feature should be implemented in the file system. Not in kgpg.
As Jimmy said: shredding is not supported in KDE4 anymore. We will not add any new features to KGpg 1.2 (as found in KDE3) anymore. Sorry :(
