Version: 0.12.1 (using KDE 3.5.4 "release 71.1" , openSUSE ) Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.21-0.21-smp I tried with gaim and they were online , returned to kopete- they're still offline. It does not happen everytime
Is it possible that the contact was truly not online when you signed in with Kopete vs. when you signed in with gaim? Basically, I'm trying to figure out exactly how it is you know that the contact is online and that Kopete is telling you the wrong thing, since these sorts of problems are quite hard to reproduce.
yes 100% and I talked to the contat with another messenger and he told me he was online and chating
still exists in 0.12.3
I am using 0.12.3 from openSUSE KDE 3.5.5 "release 45.1" and am observing the exact same phenomenon. I can actively chat with a contact who is logged in using yahoo instant messenger (yahoo v.8.0.0.506 BETA), but the title bar claims he is offline. A second contact (who appears online) can simultaneously confirm that the contact in question is indeed online.
bug still present in kopete 0.12.4

This should already be fixed. Please reopen if the problem still exists in the svn or KDE 3.5.8 kopete.
