Version:           Unbekannt (using KDE 3.5.4 Level "a" , unofficial build of SUSE )
Compiler:          Target: i586-suse-linux
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.21-0.13-default

Since a recent update the systemtray is unusable. All icons are flickering and the CPU is @ 100%. The only thing is to kill the kicker and remove the systemtray.

This is a post-3.5.4 issue which has been fixed since (revision 574750.)

Maybe I missunderstand you but this bug still exists in kdeaddons3-kicker 3.5.4-21.1

the fix for the problem which appears in suse's packages (they apparently pulled in some post-3.5.4 code) has not been packaged by suse yet.

Ok, thanks for clearing up.
At the moment the systemtray seems to be more or less usable. After restarting the kicker the systemtray behaves normal.
