Description Luke Monahan 2006-09-07 05:03:21 UTC
Version: 0.9.3-rc1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux

When using either the mplayer or xine backend fullscreen mode is blank. This occurs without fail on every file I have played.

The video continues to play, with sound audible, but no video is shown until I leave fullscreen mode.

Both raw mplayer and xine as well as kaffeine work in fullscreen mode.

This occurs on my laptop using the Kubuntu Dapper packages or the latest version compiled from source.

Do you use the same video output driver for all these applications? And which one do you use for kmplayer?

Can you post the console log of mplayer from the console window in kmplayer for when you start a movie, go to fullscreen and back again?

Have you tried any other video output drivers and do the all have the same result?

(sorry for asking these obvious questions, but you forgot to add them to your report)

Sorry, lost track of this bug and didn't see your question. It seems now that everything is working fine.

I believe the bug was partly caused by hardware acceleration in the ATI drivers for "Xv" video. On upgrading the ATI drivers to 8.28.8 fullscreen began working.

Thanks.
