Description Matthew Blissett 2006-08-31 17:14:23 UTC
Version: 1.4.1 (using KDE 3.5.2, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.2-0ubuntu18.1 dapper)
Compiler:          Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-26-386

A slightly extreme example to show the problem:

Using these smart playlists
* Trance, contains about 400 tracks
* Rave, 2 tracks
* Electro dance, 8 tracks

I make a Dynamic Playlist from these three genres. I'd like to have about 0.5% rave, 2% electro dance and 97.5% techno. What I get is about 33% of each, which means I keep hearing the same two rave tracks!

I tried a work-around: I made a Smart Playlist: "Tracks with genre Trance, Rave or Electro dance", then making a Dynamic Playlist from that, but the same thing happens. Loading the Smart Playlist directly (and shuffling it) does do what I want (the appropriate balance between the genres) but it would be good if this could be done with a dynamic playlist.

Thanks,
:)
