Description Thomas Schmidt 2006-08-29 23:22:12 UTC
Version: 2.5.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

When choosing a recent file in the file->open dialogue that is an url,
the url is not copied to the adress field but only the last part of it.

Reproduce:
- Open an url in kate, eg: http://www.heise.de/ct/
- Go to File-Open and choose the url from the recent files
- Kate will try to open a file called "ct"

This works for me in kwrite and kate. It also works for another developer. We cannot reproduce. The recent files entry says: "ct [http://www.heise.de/ct/]".
Maybe you are talking about the first part 'ct'?

I cannot see any bug, sorry. Either give more details or we will have to close it as INVALID or WORKSFORME.

I did not mean the File->Recent Files entry, from there it works.
I meant the File->Open dialogue and then choosing the url from
the recent files.

Indeed, it looks like a KFileDialog or KEncodingFileDialog issue, though. Reassigning.

already reported, so it's a duplicate :)
