Description Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-08-29 07:31:17 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.5.4, compiled sources)
Compiler: Target: x86_64-suse-linux
OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.16.13-4-default

Hi!

IMHO there are a lot of reasons why one wants to have a descending sorting immediately (large number or rows, user friendlyness)

clicking on the column header
2 x LMB: is necessary now

possible solution
RMB: sort descending
LMB: sort ascending

LMB (and RMB?): toggles sorting

hope that's on the right list

may be even a QT-thingy
Comment 2 George Staikos 2006-08-29 08:35:30 UTC
You have the wrong bugzilla product. I'm not sure which one you want.
Comment 3 Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-08-29 10:24:37 UTC
the one which presents the grids (multiline objects) in konqueror and all other apps.
Comment 4 Nicolas Brisset 2006-08-29 11:02:06 UTC
I think he means the QListView should allow ascending sorting with LMB and descending with RMB, while now you have to click twice the LMB to get descending sorting.
In that case, it is indeed a Qt "issue", or possibly kdelibs (KListView) issue.
Comment 5 Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-08-29 11:15:32 UTC
yes comment 4 is correct
Comment 6 George Staikos 2006-08-31 04:34:14 UTC
This has nothing to do with Kst and I can't figure out what you are talking about to reassign it.
Comment 7 Mark A. Taff 2006-08-31 06:13:48 UTC
moved to kdelibs
Comment 8 Ferdinand Gassauer 2006-08-31 18:37:06 UTC
thanks

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have implemented this wish.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
