I think this could potentially just replace the album collection feature..? I love this software, keep up the great work!
Album collection is kind of tag for album. Isn't it satisfying?
Tags in digikam are a much more powerful feature--images can have many tags whereas an album can only have one collection. Also, collections are defined in a single list whereas tags are defined in a tree. i think tags should be applicable to all entities, on the long run. the advantage of the albums is that they correspond to the directory structure.. but they are also as limited as it

I can not see how this feature would help us to manage albums or photos. I think the extra-information should be added to the album properties what would be included to search.

This feature wish now exists since 14 years :) Still, this feature would be very helpful even more in 2020. Please consider adding tags to albums. Smugmug, for example, allows to set keywords on galleries or folders
