Version: unknown (using KDE 3.5.2, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.2-0ubuntu18.1 dapper) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-26-386 looking at some videos of XGL effects, especially the "stretchy windows" gave me an idea for a different way to manage windows on multiple desktops: "throw" the window to another desktop. in which grabbing the window and releasing the mouse with a flick of the wrist would throw the window to the same position on another desktop. perhaps the "harder" the window is thrown, the more desktops the window traverses on linear multi-desktop layouts. not only would this be eye candy somewhat, it would be extremely useful for someone like me who ends up "Right Clicking -> Send to desktop" often. i think anyone who makes full use of multiple desktops could appreciate this sort of feature.
Detecting whether the user wants to throw the window or just slightly moved it around would be way too much work for such a hardly widely popular feature. There are other ways of moving windows between desktops.
