Description Andrew Mason 2006-08-08 05:12:32 UTC
Version: 0.11.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.4)
Installed from: Slackware Packages
Compiler: 3.4.6

OS: Linux

I tried this with the 0.12 svn branch last week as well. Basically I can't see anyone with a .mac account as being online with either AIM or ICQ. I can send them messages , but they can't see me as being online or reply back to me (the latter is more an ichat restriction i think).

Not sure if this is useful or not but using gaim they appear online and functionality is normal.

I can try fix it but I don't have any friend with iChat, so I'll need one iChat screen name.

I cannot reproduce, I can see orangesunglasses2 online in AIM with Kopete if I use iChat client for orangesunglasses2.
Did you use orangesunglasses2@mac.com in add contact dialog?
Comment 6 Andrew Mason 2007-01-22 03:44:45 UTC
ok sorry, i don't think i have been very descriptive in how to reproduce it

1) load up kopete and add a new aim user with appropriate UIN.
33454532 ..etc.. I used an ICQ account no with AIM (not sure if this
makes a difference or not)

2) using ichat sign in with the .mac account

3) with kopete add your orangesunglasses2@mac.com buddy and in ichat
add the ICQ uin as a buddy.

4) currently the two appear offline to each other..and afaik when you
send a message from kopete it will get through . However if you send a
message from iChat to the icq buddy it doesn't get through.

Let me know if you are still unable to reproduce.

1) it's ok if you have ICQ UNI (number) you have to use ICQ account.
3) I don't know how you managed to add AIM(.mac) screen name (orangesunglasses2@mac.com) to ICQ account in kopete, I always get invalid UNI and it's ok because we don't support AIM contacts in ICQ accounts in Kopete 0.12.

But the good news is that this is already implemented in Kopete that will be in KDE 4. You can add ICQ contacts to AIM account and vice versa.

If you want to talk to mac users in 0.12 you have to use AIM account.
