Description Klaus Weidenbach 2006-08-01 19:36:55 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
OS: Linux

I have realized a problem with Digikam's image editor and pictures that are download from a camera and are autorotated. The preview picture in the album is displayed correctly. Do I open the autorotated pictures I only see the first few lines, the rest is just grey. Not rotated pictures get displayed correctly. Opening the autorotated picture with "Open with..." kuickshow, gimp, showFoto, etc shows the picture also correctly. After I close Digikam and start it again also in Digikam's image editor the pictures are shown correctly.
I thought first this was related only to autorotated pictures after downloading, but in the meantime I got the same problem with other pictures, too. Like I was watching the pictures in Digikam's image editor and when I went backwards there was suddenly such a grey picture again that got displayed correctly before. After closing Digikam and starting it up again the picture got displayed correctly again.

Could you please tell us which DigiKam version, and what kind of images (jpeg, tiff, 8-bit 16-bit) cause problems?

It is SVN version after the patch of beta1 came out, but as I heard now not all changes from beta1-r1 have been commited to svn. It is ordinary jpeg file from a Canon Digital Ixus430.

I have worked quite much with the recent SVN version tonight and also tried to reproduce this behavior. So far I could not reproduce it anymore and also displaying pictures got muuuuuuch quicker again and it is working much smoother. So from my experiences I would mark this bug as solved. Thank you very much.
