Description zeki cai 2006-07-28 14:17:55 UTC
Version: 3.3.3 (using KDE 3.5.1 Level "a" , SUSE 10.1)
Compiler: Target: i586-suse-linux
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.13-4-smp

When I use kdevelop 3.3.3 on SuSE Linux 10.1, I find Chinese character can't input into kdevelop when you type slowly. When you type very fast, the Chinese character can input into kdevelop.
Why?
But other KDE programs have no this problem!
Comment 1 Matt Rogers 2006-08-03 16:33:04 UTC
do you have the same problem with Kate or KWrite?
Comment 2 zeki cai 2006-08-10 14:42:10 UTC
No, there is no problem with Kate or KWrite.
I have found when I use export QT_IM_MODULE=xim to replace QT_IM_MODULE=scim, the problem is dispear!
Why?
Comment 3 zeki cai 2007-06-24 15:51:23 UTC
The problem is still exist with kdevelop 3.4.1, and the methods: export QT_IM_MODULE=xim has no effect!

What is the status of this PR?

I can't see some Chinese characters in some text windows.
For example in 'Find Text' window in kpdf I see a blank when I type 钉.
Some other apps (like Skype) show 钉 ok, GTK apps also show it ok.

This seems to be a font problem.
How can I know which font is used in KDE app for a particular window/widget?
Comment 6 Andreas Pakulat 2008-08-13 19:49:47 UTC
for kde3 thats the kde control center or kcontrol as application. I'm assuming this is fixed in KDE4 because so far we're using basically the same code as kate/kwrite to integrate katepart and there it works AFAIK (at least there are no such bugreports open). Please re-open if you have a problem in KDE4/KDevelop4.
