Description Martin Fabian Hohenberg 2006-07-27 11:59:06 UTC
Version: 1.6.0 (using KDE 3.5.3, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.3-0ubuntu0.2 dapper)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.15-26-386

karm seems to be able to save the current tasks in a file - however, there is no option to retrieve tasks from this file, and shutting down karm and starting it again does not load the tasks from that saved ics file.

This is kinda unintuitive, and has resulted in data loss for me (I track freelancing project times for customers with karm, and have lost one day of time documentation, which means one day of pay because karm crashed).

Not only should karm have an option to load that ICS file, but it should have an option to autosave it.

There is an option to retrieve data from a file, you can start karm with the .ics file as parameter:
karm myfile.ics

karm loads the time data from the same file as it saved to, stored under Settings|Configure karm|Storage. What you describe should not have happened.

karm does autosave its data, this is enabled by default and can be changed at Settings|Configure karm|Storage as well.

Could you please open a bug report why karm crashed ?

Your request to have an option to load an iCal file is good and I like it.

Mathias, didn't you want to do exactly this ?
