Description Sumedha 2006-07-24 05:13:48 UTC
Version: 1.4.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

When a file is not writable and the file's tags are edited and the "Save and Close" button is pressed, a slide-up message appears alerting that the file was not writable. But in the process, the dialog where the tag information was edited is closed auomatically and the tag information must be typed again after chaning the file permission.

It would be much easier if another dialog appeared alerting the user that the file in not writable without closing the "Edit Track Information" window. Also, if a button like "Make File Writable" was in the "Edit Track Information" window, that would make the task of editing so much easier.

No need to provide a way to change permissions, but rather we need a better way to alert the user that the file is not writeable.
