Version: 0.12.0 (using KDE KDE 3.5.3) Installed from: Compiled From Sources OS: Linux It would be nice if there was an editor in Kopete that provides a GUI to edit the emoticons.xml file of an emoticon theme (similar to MSN Messenger). It should allow the user to select a picture and associate a sequence of characters with it. This would make it easier to add some emoticons without having to edit plain text files. Furthermore, Kopete should apply the changes made to emoticons.xml without having to restart.
This would actually more likely be provided as a separate application.
This feature would be nice in kopete next version. It could be made using the patch send to kde-apps: http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=54968

this bug has been marked as fixed, but what's the fix? maybe you could provide some kind of explanation
> this bug has been marked as fixed, but what's the fix? Like a systemsettings module (thus for the whole KDE, not just Kopete) for managing emoticons?
ok, now things are clearer
(In reply to comment #4) > this bug has been marked as fixed, but what's the fix? > maybe you could provide some kind of explanation > I have marked my bug report as fixed, since in KDE4 the GUI is available in Kopete and, as Pino Toscano says, also as a systemsettings module.
