When I get new mail, I would expect the message list to automatically scroll down/up to show me the sender, subject, date, etc.  This doesn't happen and I'm not sure if it is a bug or a feature.  I am using IMAP.  Thanks.

It is a feature that has been requested very often. I close it as invalid because right now I'm too lazy to search for the correct report ;-) If you want to search for it you can vote for the report.
