I've had messages disappear from the mail server when fetching mail with Kmail 1.8.2. None of them show up in KMail's inbox.  Earthlink believes that the KMail client is downloading messages or telling the server that it has downloaded and to delete. This would also be happening when KMail has not been told to check mail. Earthlink's logs indicated that a POP client downloaded messages from the server. What I see is that the messages in the inbox simply vanish.
