Description Andreas Pietzowski 2006-06-20 11:39:06 UTC
Version: 0.11.3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Hello,

people really like to share pictures of each other while chating and it would be more easily to persuade people to use Jabber when the clients also show buddy-pics within a Jabber-world. I asked the Jabber-XMPP-Developers in the mailinglist about the picture support in the protocol and I got this answer:

--------------------------
Although the 'official' protocol is not finished yet, many jabber clients
support this feature already (using a more 'ad-hoc' protocol (JEP-153)). I'm
thinking of clients such as Google Talk, iChat, and many other clients.

FYI: The work on the official protocol (JEP-84) has just restarted, and should
be finished 'soon'.
--------------------------

Maybe you can integrate this feature in the jabber module of kopete. Would be very neat ;)

Have a very nice day
Andreas
