Description Winfried Huber 2006-06-05 02:52:09 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.3)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: (compiled by distributor, SuSE)
OS: Linux

Hi there,

I did an upgrade kdepim3-3.5.2-5 => kdepim3-3.5.3-8.2 and found the crypto support broken. On composing mail the buttons to encrypt or to sign a message are greyed out.

Selecting setup->security->crypto modules (?, german version for me, "Einstellungen->Sicherheit->Krypto-Module") shows greyed out entries for GpgME: OpenPGP(gpg) and S/MIME (gpgsm). Can't select them.

It complains about "GPGME wurde ohne OpenPGP-Unterstützung kompiliert." and "GPGME wurde ohne S/MIME-Unterstützung kompiliert." --- (GPGME compiled without ... support).

Simply running "rpm -Uhv --oldpackage" on the bunch of "-3.5.2-5" versions fixes the problem, crypto support is back again.

I grabbed the broken packages from ...

http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_9.3/i586/

... the whole bunch, time stamp June 02, 2006. The rest seems to run fine.

I have the same problem after updating to this version!

SuSE packaging problem, kmail works in other distros, including encryption support.

Please try revision 11 once it becomes available for your architecture/version.

With the update from today on opensuse it works.

Everything is fine now, crypto support is back again. Thanks!
