Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux If you have JavaScript enabled for .google.com, try searching for anything on Google. Right click one of the results (the actual URL). Watch and be amazed as nothing happens. Expected results: get the context menu for whatever the URL's href attribute points to. Actual results: nothing happens!
I'm assuming this is due to whatever the JavaScript function asq() on Google does. The normal links have an onmousedown="return asq(...)".
This happens if you have the personalized search enabled. If you disable that everything looks the same but the links are normal (and right click works).
What does 'nothing happens' mean? Here konqueror stops responding to anything after the right-click (Konqueror 3.5.2). This behaviour started today (maybe google.com has changed their pages?). BTW, what is personalized search?
By "nothing happens", I mean that no context menu appears. Sorry for not clarifying like 1.5 years ago. :/
Tested in 4.0.3 - was unable to reproduce problem. Context menu appeared with no problems when right clicking on URLs in search results. Javascript enabled. I'm also unsure what 'personalised search' is but tried when logged in to google as well and still had no problems.
If I remember correctly, the problem existed only for a few days and disappeared without konqueror upgrade. I suppose it was the fault of the google site. IMHO the bug should be closed.
