Description Reywind Ther 2006-05-06 22:13:25 UTC
Version: 1.4-beta3 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

Global hotkeys don't always work. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't and i can't spot a pattern. They worked fine in Amarok 1.3.9. I noticed this issue since Amarok 1.4-beta2. I'm using Gstreamer engine with alsa.

It appears that globalhotkeys don't work due to the keyboard settings in kde, using a different keyboard mapping; for instance setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout us -variant basic which is my default, the hotkeys won't work. but with my other setting using setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout ro -variant winkeys, i have no problems.

Removing -variant basic, thus leaving the keyboard settings: -model pc104 -layout us -variant basic, solves the problem.
