Version: 0.11.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.2) Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package OS: Linux It would be nice if there was a notification for incoming messages _only_ when chat window is not active. Personally I don't see the point of playing a sound when you recieve a message from someone you are actively chatting with. However it would be nice to hear a sound when you recieve a message when you are not currently actively chatting with the person. While there are other notifications except playing a sound on incoming messages to show that they have arrived, I find it pretty hard to actually notice those notifications. For instance when reading a document or concentrating on something else, I usually do not notice the blinking of the system tray icon or the window entry in the task bar when a message is recieved. This could perhaps be merged into a single event with Bug 86898: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86898 Conclusion: Add an event for "An incoming message has been recieved in an inactive window"
I've got pretty much this behaviour by disabling "Enable events for active chat windows" under Configuration -> Behaviour -> Events.
This seems fixed in 4.6.2. Can you confirm?
I currently don't have that version available. So I am unable to confirm that it has been fixed. But we believe in your judgement! ;)
