From time to time editors kate, kile and kwrite crash when saving.

I don't know. It happens randomly (but several times a day) when saving 
with Ctrl+S (it seems to work when clicking the icon instead of Ctrl+S).

Several times a day? What system do you have, i.e. Qt version, kernel version, SMP, etc) ?
