Description David Anderson 2006-05-01 10:17:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux

When a message in an IMAP folder has attachments, kmail does not show them (or does not show them all). (I am showing attachments as "Smart").

If you "view source" or "save message", then after that kmail shows all the attachments, but not before.

Do you see this with all emails or only some? What imap server are you using?
Comment 2 David Anderson 2006-05-03 23:40:55 UTC
I can't recall ever _not_ seeing this problem. Sometimes e-mails show no attachments when they have one; sometimes they show one attachment when they have more than one.

I get this behaviour on two different computers, with two different IMAP servers. How do I find out what they run? When I telnet to one, it responds with "* OK IMAP4 PROXY server ready (7.2.066)" - the other responds with "* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4REV1 LOGIN-REFERRALS STARTTLS AUTH=LOGIN] (snip).net IMAP4rev1 2001.315rh at Wed, 3 May 2006 22:39:52 +0100 (BST)".

Just to confirm that this 9-month old bug is still there, still happens every time.

This bug is still present in KMail 1.9.1. It occurs when
"load attachments on demand" is checked, so in some sense
KMail is doing the right thing, BUT:

* It does not tell the user that the display of the mail is incomplete

* And it does not give the user a visible option to download the
  full email from the server
Comment 6 Björn Ruberg 2009-12-25 23:40:55 UTC
Is this still happening an a recent kmail version?
Comment 7 bengta 2009-12-29 21:21:57 UTC
Latest KDE3 kmail (1.9.10) behaves the same.
Comment 8 Björn Ruberg 2009-12-29 21:28:55 UTC
KDE 3.5 is unmaintained
