Description Chris 2006-04-25 23:04:23 UTC
Version: 0.18 #3016 (using KDE 3.5.2, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.5 (Gentoo 3.4.5, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.14-gentoo-r2

The topic bar above the chat area doesn't seem to honor the Hyperlink color I have set in Konversation's configuration. Since I have Konversation set to a light-on-dark blue color scheme (to match my KDE settings), and the hyperlinks in the titlebar force themselves to deep blue regardless of what I have set in KDE or Konversation, it becomes near impossible to read them against the background.

I noticed an earlier (resolved) bug by someone else that mentions that the set hyperlink color conflicted with his main window background color and thus honoring it caused him to be unable to read it. That kinda makes this a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation.

Given this problem, it may be best to make the topic bar's background follow the chat window's color, perhaps even as an editable text field, so that the set hyperlink and text colors will display properly. That, or add two more configurable colors, for the text and hyperlink colors in the topic bar, respectively. Or, perhaps follow KDE's color scheme for the topic bar colors instead of what's set in Konversation's configuration.

The hyperlink colour should presently heed the KDE color scheme (which was the fix to the earlier bug you mention). If it doesn't, that's the bug.

Konversation 0.19, released at the end of January, resolves this by following the color set in the KDE color scheme. It also features a large number of other improvements (a changelog is available on our website). I advise you to upgrade to the new release. It's available on Gentoo Linux in the testing branch of the package tree.
