Description Tal Levy 2006-04-17 22:33:29 UTC
Version: 3.5.2 (using KDE 3.5.2, Arch Linux)
Compiler: Target: i686-pc-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-ARCH

First of all, the dropdown menu contains gibberish instead of hebrew no matter what encoding is chosen.
Second, the page appears to have 2 opposite encodings. When Hebrew (iso 8859-8) or auto detect is chosen, the yellow text above the dropdown menu and the text in the news ticker on the left appears ok while the text at the bottom of the page appears back to front. When Hebrew (iso 8859-8-i) is chosen then the yellow text and the news ticker are back to front while the text at the bottom of the page is ok. I have seen this problem with another site (password protected).
In addition there is a slight rendering problem. When choosing something from the gibberish menu, more menus, some options and a text box appear. The menu and the text box seem huddled too close together and also when everything appears, a line appears underneath with the colors of the background. As if part of the background was cut off and replaced.

None of these problems occur when viewing the page with firefox.

Confirmed the Drop-down encoding problem. The elements are initialised by JavaScript, so there's an encoding problem there.

I cannot read Hebrew, so I cannot confirm the second problem.

The third problem doesn't happen for me.

The page with different encodings

Here you can see what the page looks like with two different encodings. The
letters simply change their positions.

Message from the Bugsquad and Konqueror teams: This bug is closed as outdated, as we do not have the manpower to maintain the KDE3 version anymore. If you still can reproduce this issue with Konqueror 4.8.4 or later, please open a new report. Thank you for your understanding.
