Description Aaron Solochek 2006-04-13 13:51:56 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

This looks like an old bug 84092, and indeed it is something I've seen across multiple versions of korganizer.

After being open for some amount of time (generally overnight will do) trying to create an event on an egroupware calendar will popup an authentication dialog asking for the password for a nonsense user (a long session-id looking string). The username is not changeable, and no password is accepted, so the event is not saved.

I've got the same problem, and because egroupware locks new logins for a while (under normal circumstances a good config), it's a very bothering problem.

Please let me know if i can help in any way.

best regards,
dieter

suse linux 10.1
kde 3.5.1 level "a"

I've got the same problem too. Every morning when I try to connect to EGW I have stop Kontact and korganizer, delete the server cookie in the Konqueror configuration and restart Korganizer to be able to connect.

Ubuntu Edgy
kde 3.5.4
kontact 1.2.3
korganizer 3.5.4
egroupware 1.2.105

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created
korganizer-devel mailing list.
Comment 6 Danas 2007-10-13 17:12:27 UTC
it should be not relevant any more.
Since egroupware 1.4 iCalServer is used instead of XMLRPC for sync whit KOrganizer.
Comment 7 Murz 2008-12-09 12:19:20 UTC
Confirm on Kubuntu Intrepid width KDE 4.2 (Kontact, KAddressBook, Kalendar, etc).
I can use an iCal for Calendar entries, but AddressBook entries can't be synced with iCal.

More info: eGroupWare Version 1.6.001
KDE 4.1.80 (KDE 4.2 Beta1)
Kontact version 1.3

When I start the application and add the new:
eGroupWare Server (via XML-RPC) resource for AddressBook
eGroupWare Server (via XML-RPC) resource for Сalendar
(http://host.com/egroupware/xmlrpc.php, domain 'default', user name 'murz' and password)
all works good, Kontact imports all AddressBook and Сalendar settings correctly.
When I closing and opening it, all syncs good.
And I can create, edit and delete contacts.

But after some time using Kontact (I think at time that Kontact try upload changes to XML-RPC resouce) there are appears the Authorization dialog window for XML-RPC resource width wrong username (and changing the username disabled), the username is '399a9145a43084587d6b58521d83cb74' instead of 'murz'. And when I type the password, the auth is fail, because the username is bad and shows the error: "Server sent error -1: Received invalid XML markup: unexpected end of file at 1:1". And the Kontact asks the password again and again. When I exits and starts Kontact again, all works good.

The current recommendation from EGroupware is to use GroupDAV. It's the only
actively developed access method to EGroupware supported by KDE!

Ralf Becker, thanks! At first look, it connects and works normally via GroupDAV. I will test work with EGroupware 1.6 and Kontact on GroupDAV protocol.
Comment 12 Andreas Kuhl 2009-05-12 08:59:30 UTC
Unfortunally, WebDAV seems broken too (when connected to via Akonadi). I opened a detailed bug report a while ago, but the ticket was not assigned yet. :-(
