Description Andrew Ziem 2006-04-06 17:35:16 UTC
Version: 3.5 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Fedora RPMs

The user should be able to drag an .ics calendar file from his file manager onto Kontact calendar, and then Kontact adds it as a new calendar. When I tested it, the drop was rejected (nothing happened).

Maybe Kontact should ask whether to add it as a new calendar on the local file system or import it into the current calendar?

Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created

I'm on Kubuntu Feisty, and would like to be able to save my flight information into my existing calendar. Clicking on the so-called "Download to Outlook Calendar" from Mozilla (Konqueror doesn't always like some airline sites), I get prompted to "Open with KOrganizer", but when I do, Kontact is brought to the foreground and nothing happens.

Kontact should recognize the .ics file I'm opening and ask how to import it.

Matt: That is not related to drag and drop. Perhaps you should look into filing a new issue.

FYI, this should work for KOrganizer running standalone for KDE 3.5.6.

The problem comes when you are running KOrganizer within Kontact.

Thank you, Allen. Is this a known issue then?
Comment 7 Allen Winter 2007-04-06 22:35:42 UTC
yes, it is a known issue and something that has been on our fixit list for a couple of releases now. For some reason we never seem to get around to fixing it.

I'll try to bump it up in priority on my personal fixit list for 3.5.7.
