Description Josh Green 2006-04-05 23:53:01 UTC
Version: 1.4-beta2 (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc 3.4.4
OS: Linux

My music is contained on an external USB drive and I have a symlink in my home directory pointing to its mount point. If I forget to mount it, then amarok will clear out database and I have to quit, mount the drive, and then restart it, whereapon the database is rebuilt. Would be nice if Amarok could detect that no music files exist and do nothing.

Currently, doing nothing would be very bad, as the files would be shown as available on context and collection browsers. Anyway, I think what you really want is proper support for removable media.
