Description Gerard Seibert 2006-04-04 00:30:24 UTC
Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.1, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.4.2 [FreeBSD] 20040728
OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 5.4-STABLE

This is the scenerio:

1) <Settings>
2) <Configure KMail
3) <Accounts>
4) <Receiving>
5) Double click account name
6) Check: Leave fetched Mail on the Server
7) Click OK

Now, I configure the POP filters.

1) <Settings>
2) Configure POP Filters
3) Enter information as required
4) Check: Delete mail from server

This will not work. The mail cannot be deleted from the server if “Leave fetched Mail on Server” is checked as described above.

I believe this is a bug. The POP filters configuration should take precedence over the <Accounts> <Receiving> setting.

Could you please provide your reasoning for this?

A possible use case that comes to my mind is leaving all messages on the POP server, but automatically deleting all messages marked as spam.
