Description Edgar Ibsen 2006-04-02 00:01:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

This bug is somewhat similar to bugs #33112 and #56606, except it is no longer URL length dependent. Konqueror seems to exhibit irregular behaviour with regards to the location toolbar. Sometimes, it is placed besides the main toolbar, sometimes below it. There were even times when I opened Konqueror, saw that the location toolbar was below the main toolbar, closed Konqueror, reopened Konqueror, and the location toolbar was back to where it should be (besides the main toolbar). Recently (a few hours ago), I changed my wallpaper, and now Konqueror refuses to put the lcoation toolbar besides the main toolbar, period. And no amount of restarting seems to be fixing that. I even took out all the other icons besides the location box, and it still refuses to sit besides the main toolbar. Interestingly, as soon as I take out the location box, the location toolbar goes back to its place besides the main toolbar. (Not sure if it's related to wallpaper changing, but that's the only significant thing I did.)

I'm going to say this has something to do with the fact that the internal length of the location box seems to vary (this is not based on actual knowledge of the code, but just a suggestion).

I've had similar experience. Now I'm using KDE 3.5.5, and both on the kubuntu packages and the archlinux one and the address bar is placed randomly.
