Description Marc Schütz 2006-03-31 14:47:17 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

In the kicker configuration dialog, there's a checkbox for deactivating the large popups that appear when pointing the mouse on some button in kicker. This checkbox is labeled "Symboleffekte deaktivieren" (disable symbol effects) in German (unfortunately I don't know the English equivalent), which is not a useful description of what it controls. What's even more confusing is the checkbox right next to it, "Kurzinfos anzeigen" (display short info's), for which I couldn't find out what it does (this checkboxes help text doesn't make that clear either).

In short, the labels and help texts for these two buttons should be made more clear. There seem to be a lot of users who want to disable the popups, but can't find out where to do so.

The englisch original text is "enable icon mouseover effects", which is not much better than our german translation :( the chebox on the right is simply "show tooltips" and i'm sorry to say that i have no clue what is beeing controled by it.
Do you have a better translation for the "Symboleffekte aktivieren" checkbox? any proposal?

Thanks,
Thomas

I have changed the translation to "Symbol-Infofläche bei Mauskontakt aktivieren". This should solve the issue.

Thanks for your report.
