Description Joan Tur 2006-03-23 22:49:58 UTC
Version: 1.2 (using KDE 3.5.1, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.1-0ubuntu0breezy1 )
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.16-ck1-616a

I'm using kontact on a laptop, and as I prefer it not to get warm and not to spend too much battery I've changed all "Compactable=true" to "Compactable=false" in ~/.kde/share/config/kmailrc

That works fine, but it sometimes starts again to use 100% cpu and kontact is then slow and sometimes it also crashes (*). If I check kmailrc I usually can see compactable=true in some folders' configurations (then close kontact and change them again to false).

Thanks.

(*) to make it crash I only have to click on a different folder when it's compacting a folder (I know it's compacting a folder because after 100% cpu use and almost no HD activity it shows so on the bottom left hand side of the screen)

Is this still a problem in a recent kmail version?

I'm sorry, but I no longer use Kde.
