When I create a new event (with the button of toolbar, or with the submenu when clicking over the day I want to, or clickin in action-new event) korganizer always crashes.

I've created a new user, and I obtained the same result:

mysql> INSERT INTO `sessions_test` ( `ses_id` , `ses_user_fk` , `ses_date` , 
`ses_address` , `ses_enabled` , `ses_datelast` ) VALUES (NULL , '9', 
'0000-00-00 00:00:00', '9', '0', '0000-00-00 00:00:00');

ERROR 1062 (23000): Duplicate entry '1' for key 1

Well, I wrote in the insert "ses_id = null"  because I copied SQL from 
phpmyadmin, but anyway fails:

I was quite much afraid the bug was due to NetBSD using Scheduler Activations, but that does not seem to be the case.

2. When korganizer crashes I get insufficient resources X11 errors (Opcode major is 53 which is alloc_pixmap). It is probably just an artifact of the crash and has no direct reference.

3. Backtrace from NetBSD looks like the original backtrace, but I've seen variants where the bt happens because a SIGSEGV inside sa_yield (which is the scheduler activations code). I do not think this to be the true reason as Linux has been hit too.

4. Bug #125283 seems to be a dupe of this bug.

Strangely, in my case korganizer never crashes, but otherwise the bug seems to be the same or closely related: every couple of times I create a new event, it will take more than 15 seconds until the dialog window appears. in this case, closing the window (by canceling event creation) will in this case also result in 8 sec delay. This happens more often when korganizer is used in kontact. 
I'm using kubuntu dapper; Qt: 3.3.6; KDE: 3.5.2; KOrganizer: 3.5

Before, I seemed to be able to prevent the crash by editing an event before creating one.  

But now after making two system changes, I don't see the crash at all.  (1) I upgraded our terminal server to Fedora Core 5.  (2) At the same time, I setup NFS file locking on the NFS server (a different machine).  Korganizer runs on the terminal server where /home is mounted via NFS.

I get a crash every time I try to create a new event -- whether via the menu or right-clicking in the calendar day view.  It doesn't matter if I start Kontact separately or use Korganizer.

This is Adam's patch, which has fixed the problem for me

I haven't tested it extensively, but I used to get a crash 100% of the time.  I
haven't seen a crash since I've applied the patch, rebuilt and re-installed.

I cannot reproduce this bug (kubuntu dapper amd64). I also have never run into it using korganizer recently.

Does it crash as soon as you press the button?

Yes, it crashes as soon as I press the button.  The window came up one time only.  I applied the patch which made no difference for me.  The patch did not reference even close to the line numbers in my source file downloaded from the FreeBSD port.  I am using koffice on FreeBSD compiled from ports.  I am able to add to-dos, notes, journal entries, contacts, just no events. 

Is there a FreeBSD-specific bugzilla I should be reporting to instead for this?

Same patch with FreeBSD ports relative paths

cd into the desktop/kdepim3 port (as noted above, this is kdepim, not koffice),
then "make patch", apply this patch and then build and install normally.

sigh. well I feel stupid now.  I suppose the path in the patch file should have been a clue that I was patching the wrong app.  Applied the patch to my FreeBSD kdepim port, reinstalled, and it seems to be working correctly now.  I've created and edited several events with no problems.
