Version: 3.5 (using KDE 3.5.1, Kubuntu Package 4:3.5.1-0ubuntu0breezy1 ) Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.10-5-386 Just upgraded to KDE 3.5.1/Korganizer 3.5 on Kubuntu Breezy When trying to "save" my calendar info remotely using "File->Export" to an ftp:// address, it connects to the machine correctly and shows the directory contents, but when I click the "Save" button, a popup comes up titled "Remote Files Not Accepted" with the message "You can only select local files" A local "Export" works. Remote "Saving" previously worked without a problem.
Funny, the saving code hasn't been touched for about 2 years. What do you mean exactly with "previously"? Up to KDE 3.4.x?

What do you mean exactly with > "previously"? Up to KDE 3.4.x? I've been running KDE for years and updating as soon as possible when new releases come out. So it was working in the 3.4.x, yes, and in the last release before this one, 3.5.0? (Sorry, I don't keep track of old version numbers of stuff I'm no longer running.) This most recent Korganizer appears to me to have done away with the "File->Save" functionality in favor of "File-Export->(choose type)" which may be more accurate in terms of programming and function, but is definitely less clear to users. Anyway, after I figured out how to "save" now, it works when exporting an ical locally, but when it, successfully, attaches to a remote machine with ftp://..., it pops out the window I described and won't do the save. The code may not have changed, but the behavior has. At least on my machine. Matt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Reassigning all KOrganizer bug reports and wishes to the newly created korganizer-devel mailing list.
Still reproducible, remote protocols like ftp:// and fish:// don't work
*** Bug 228290 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of korganizer (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
