Description gmud 2006-03-16 18:15:59 UTC
Version: 1.3.4 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Sometimes I would like to notify somebody through ICQ (IM, kopete) at a given time. This would be a useful feature as another reminder option in kalarm. Don't know if it is possible without kopete being open and connected. Also: there are different protocols which one would have to choose from (ICQ/AIM, jabber, msn etc.).

There are various instant message applications and systems, and this feature request is really beyond the scope of KAlarm, because it would require KAlarm to know how to send messages using at least the most common methods. Bear in mind that instant message systems can come and go.

This is really best handled by the Special Actions feature, where any command can be entered by the user to achieve their aim.
