Description Juergen Katins 2006-03-12 21:48:16 UTC
Version: (using KDE 3.3.2, (3.1))
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-13)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-2-k7

I installed a font named "SchulVokalDotless" by using the kontrol center. I installed the file "schulvokaldotless.ttf" in "fonts:/wine/". Then I opened kword and tried to use this font. It was not available. I found "Wine Marlett" which is also installed in "fonts:/wine/". But I could not find "SchulVokalDotless" anywhere.

Why does kontrol center accept this installation when it doesn't support it? Where is the font gone?
What a weird behavior!

Under KDE3.5, the control centre (i.e. Kfontinst) installs the font just fine, and this appears in fonts:/Personal. The fontconfig files, and fonts.dir are created just fine.

The font is even visible with the "Fonts" kcontrol module, Kate, and OO.o writer. However, I can confirm that neither KWord nor KPresenter can see it. So I assume this is a KOffice libs problem.

Probably a bitmap font then.
(Or a font that Qt thinks is a bitmap font; I saw something about misdetection of bitmap fonts in the Qt-3.3.6 changelog)

do you still have this bug?
Comment 4 Thomas Zander 2009-08-11 15:32:54 UTC
Qt is responsible for finding bugs. And I believe this is fixed since the report came in anyway.
