Description Paul Moore 2006-03-08 15:27:28 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Using the Kopete configuration settings I can't set the IRC server port below 1024 which is a problem for me as I need to connect to an IRC server over SSL running on port 994. I have found that editing the Kopete configuration file by hand works without problem but it would be nice if the GUI would work too.

Patch to fix the problem

I don't think the current MinValue is justified. You can obviously set up an
IRC server with a port below 1024, so clients should be able to connect to such
servers. In XChat and Chatzilla you can also configure ports below 1024.
