I will state things which JBruch (http://www.gnugeo.de/jbruch/jbruch.html) is doing good and is missing in KBruch of KDE 3.5.x. I got this as a mail from a german math-teacher and will translate each part to english but to be sure my interpretation is correct I will also paste the german original.


* JBruch visualizes each step of the calculation. With JBruch the learner can actually see, why for example the product of two fractions (a/b) (<1) is smaller then each factor

(german: JBruch visualisiert den jeweiligen Rechenschritt. Mit JBruch kann ein 
Lernender tatsächlich sehen, warum z.B. das Produkt zweier Brüche (<1) 
kleiner ist als die jeweiligen Faktoren.)

* JBruch guides in small steps through the tasks. Wrong answer are directly caught and commented in context

(german: Es führt kleinschrittig durch die jeweilge Aufgabe, Falscheingaben werden 
sofort aufgefangen und situatiosbezogen kommentiert.)

* The teacher can ask "Calculate 20 devisions". As the number of solved tasks the teacher can easily control, how much work a pupil has already done.

(german: Der Lehrer kann die Aufgabe stellen: "Rechne 20 Divisionen ..". Dadurch, dass 
die Anzahl der bereits gelösten Aufgaben im Zentralen Fenster angezeigt 
werden, kann er leicht kontrollieren. )

* The student can save his results and send them as a log-file to the teacher.

(german: Der Schüler kann seine Ergebnisse speichern und dem Lehrer eine Log-Datei 
schicken.)
