Description Tobias Haf 2006-03-02 23:56:22 UTC
Version: 0.12 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
OS: Linux

Hi,

compiled 0.12svn this afternoon. It seems 0.12 is getting really cool, but it uses always about 40% of my Athlon 64 3700+. This seems to happen because the contact-list is being refreshed very often (every 0.1 second or sth. like that...). I came to this conclusion because the status-icons (jabber, jabber-transport) are flickering all the time and the contact-tooltips weren't shown while hovering the contacts.

Greets,
Tobias

if you turn off the jabber transports (assuming that you're using them) does the problem go away?
Comment 2 Olivier Goffart 2006-03-05 15:55:28 UTC
And what do you mean by flickering ?
do you mean they change ?
Comment 3 Tobias Haf 2006-03-05 15:58:38 UTC
Sorry, at the moment i'm not at home, so I can test it without the transport tomorrow.

with flickering i mean flickering ;) they don't change their appearance, they are just flickering....like a java-game without activated double-buffering. You can see the refreshes...can't explain this better :/
Comment 4 Tobias Haf 2006-03-06 10:16:43 UTC
After removing the transport, this issue has gone. No more flickering and the tooltips are working as expected. So this seems to be a transport-problem.

I have fixed a similair problem that occurs if you have two jabber contact in a metacontact and you do group changes.
the contact get changed indefinitively between groups, that was also flooding the server.
It may even occurs with the gateway contact.

Please update and re-open if the problem still occurs.
If so, please paste the debug output you get on the console.
