Description Jean Pierre Rupp 2006-03-02 14:18:52 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.3)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages

I am using JWChat [http://jwchat.sf.net/] javascript Jabber client. Whenever I'm talking to Kopete users, windows with blank messages coming from my counterpart open in JWChat. According to JWChat developers, these windows open due to incorrect state notification messages from Kopete. These state notifications should tell JWChat wether a user is typing or has stopped typing, and I suspect some other things too.

Since apparently Kopete is sending wrong state notification messages that trick JWChat into popping up these windows with blank messages every time a Kopete user starts or stops typing, it's very annoying to chat with Kopete with JWChat. Note that I don't have problems with JWChat and other Jabber clients, like Gaim or the web client integrated in Gmail.

You can see more information about this bug on [https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=599212&aid=1436827&group_id=92011]

You can easily reproduce this bug by creating an account on www.jwchat.org and logging in, then login to another account with Kopete and try to estabilish a conversation between both clients.

Thank you very much.
