Version: 2005 LT v3 (using KDE 3.4.89 (>= 20050508), Qt-KDE Wrapper for MS Windows) Compiler: MSVC++ 7.1 OS: Microsoft Windows (i586) release 66540544.63 I downloaded the following file: kexi-2005lt-demo-int-v4-win32.exe I selected "English" for installation, the installation process is great. Now, I click "Reboot Later". I click on the file in kde\bin\kexi-demo.exe QT-MT*.dll missing KEXI*.dll missing They are in kde\lib\ They should normally be in kde\bin with the executable on win32, to avoid dll hell. It would also avoid the system reboot. There's no point to put DLL and EXE in seperate dirs on Windows. I reboot the system. after reboot: could not find mime type: application/octet-stream <OK> Now Kexi demo start, no dll freaks. The thing is in Polish... I tough I install it in English... I launch the thing new->[the thing with an arrow ->] save the file, (X) error in polish. Cannot find how to switch to english =) After reopening/closing the .kexi saving bugs, dialogs when away... no clue how. Any plan on releasing other than Polish .exe =) or even a full i18n .exe release where the installation language match the actual i18n installed app language. Thank you. OS/Platform: Win98 SE, P4, 256MB RAM
Your system is MS-DOS -based. If you click "reboot later", there's no way to run Kexi, oterwise we event wouldn't be forced to ask you to reebot, right? Your problems after reboot may be related to complex AUTOEXEC.BAT file, e.g. when you added a DOS menu there or other programs have altered it in a complex way. Please e-mail me your autoexec.bat if it's not a secret. _After_ potential fix of the autoexec.bat you can try to run "Refresh KDE configuration info" command from the "Kexi" entry in the Start Menu. It's the command that should have been started once after rebooting. Without successful executing it, Kexi wont operate properly. Regarding to the English version: I've not encountered this problem, but as a quick 100% sure fix, please just remove or rename the following folder: \kde\share\locale\pl
By the way, I've answered only by exception here. As the version of Kexi you're refering to comes from commercial package, and the defect you reported is related to packaging itself, in the future please send questions unrelated to KDE sftware directly to me. I'd like to avoid user's confustion. Thanks.
As Jaroslaw said, it's a problem with the commercial version.
